Welcome to Kuda
Huraa Four Season Resort Maldives |
|
Encircled by a natural lagoon that could scarcely be more perfect
for watersports, this beautiful resort, managed by the prestigious
Four Seasons group, occupies its own little island in the North
Male Atoll, 25 minutes by speedboat from Male airport. Here in
this luxurious, South Seas-like enclave of peace and serenity,
you can leave behind the outside world and find rest and rejuvenation
in a stunning environment of deep blue seas, pristine white beaches
and wonderful underwater marine life.
In a picture perfect setting, surrounded by turquoise sea and
bathed in tropical sunshine, the Four Seasons Resort at Kuda Huraa
is perhaps the Maldives' most perfect luxury resort. Fringed with
a beach of the whitest, softest coral sand and shaded by swaying
palm trees, Kuda Huraa is the island of your dreams. Nestled amongst
the greenery of bright bougainvillea and fragrant frangipani,
the deluxe Balinese-inspired bungalows feature thatched roofs,
terracotta tile floors, cool white linen, classic cane furnishings
and natural teak finishes. For added romance, some bungalows include
a private, open-air garden shower or even a personal plunge pool
with its own shaded sun deck. For those who want to be
at one with the sea, the Four Seasons Water Bungalows are situated
over the lagoon itself, with uninterrupted water views, a private
veranda and steps leading down to the water.

DINING:
Out of the
three restaurants, "Baraabaru" offers a La Carte with
an informal setting for the finest dining, at a reasonable price.
Well, you would expect to pay a little more for such starters
as "sail in fill pastry served on red pepper cream and
saffron sauce", followed by "stuffed quail with shitake
mushrooms and pistachio nuts on tarragon cream sauce".
The Reef Club (left_side_picture) is the perfect spot to savor
a relaxed meal, featuring delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Guests
can enjoy a selection of fresh seafood, piping-hot Italian pizzas
and grilled meats. The restaurant features a free-standing bar,
ideal for a sunset toast, and dining areas outside on the wooden
deck beside the ocean or inside under the thatched roof pavilion.
The other restaurant is main restaurant, known as "Cafe
Huraa" , an open-sided thatched roof pavilion overlooking
the swimming pool and lagoon; and serves buffet breakfast, lunch
and all. Indeed the food is good, especially the salads, but
perhaps not yet at the consistently high standard that one might
expect.
The evening begins here for many guests, with a glorious sunset
and cocktails in the Nautilus Lounge. This open-sided pavilion
adjoins the reception area and overlooks the jetty and harbor
island. Music complements the relaxed mood, while a tantalizing
selection of Maldivian cocktails is available into the wee hours.
Afternoon tea is also served in the lounge. Choose from a traditional
afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, pastries, scones and Devonshire
cream, or a Maldivian afternoon tea with tuna chapatis, coconut
scones, and foli and bokiba pastries.

Swimming Pool
During the day time, the real focus of the
resort is the swimming pool, due to the attractiveness. The
beaches entirely man-made, they really look like a natural setting,
littered with small coral pieces. And the disappointment might
be the huge and shallow lagoon, without much coral and fishes.
Beach
Bungalow's We may not consider the Beach Bungalow's
large, but they are good looking, cozy, comfortable and distinctly
modern. The sand and white striped counterpanes, the sea grass
motifs on the wardrobe and the underwater fantasy painting give
the rooms a seaside feel. The bathroom is a fair size and well
appointed, maintaining the high standards with its own range
of herbal amenities.
Beach Bungalows
with Pool Just steps from the pristine, white sand beach and
Resort facilities, and overlooking the Indian Ocean, the spacious
and comfortable Beach Bungalows with Pool include a large plunge
pool and the private luxury of an outdoor shower. These bungalows
measure 93 square meters (1,000 square feet). As you could see
from the left-side picture each offers expansive outdoor living
spaces, with garden-wrapped private deck and plunge pool. And
full, tiled bathroom includes a deep soaking tub and separate
shower stall, plus a private outdoor shower.
Water
Bungalows
are built on sturdy columns rising from the placid waters,
and with bedroom views of the sea, the over-the-lagoon Water
Bungalows offer an atmosphere of delightful isolation. Each
has a private sun deck with stairs to the turquoise lagoon.
These Bungalows measure 98 square meters (1,054 square feet).
Each has an entrance lobby and a spacious bedroom with day
bed as well as a king-size bed facing picture-window views
of the sea. A dressing room leads to a spacious bathroom overlooking
the lagoon. The verandah deck is angled to be seen only from
the sea, perfect for secluded sunbathing. Stairs lead down
to the lagoon, a natural swimming pool where neon-colored
fish lazily drift in the crystal-clear waters. A fresh water
shower is conveniently next to the stairs.
Spacious Navaranna
Water Villas sit atop the turquoise of the Indian
Ocean and open to the endless azure sky. These one-bedroom
villas feature a private deck, bathrooms with an ocean view,
and a private outdoor shower. Navaranna Water Villas measure
an expansive 153 square meters (1,643 square feet). This Maldivian
Villa "pearl of the sea" is positioned on stilts
above the blue lagoon, and provides a truly sweeping view
of the Indian Ocean that extends to the horizon. This multi-roomed
villa features a living room and bedroom of teak floors, stuccoed
walls and glass paneled windows facing the sea; the dressing
room leads to a spacious and bright bathroom overlooking the
lagoon. The veranda deck, complete with sun loungers and private
stairs leading down to the lagoon, is ideal for secluded sunbathing
or a dip in the crystal clear waters; a fresh-water shower
is conveniently located at the end of the veranda deck stairs.
Kuda Huraa
Beach Villa The large, two-bedroom Kuda
Huraa Beach Villa is the epitome of gracious, beachside bungalow
comfort. It includes a private deck and pool, and outdoor
garden shower. The Kuda Huraa Beach Villa measures 239 square
metres (2,572 square feet). It features a well-appointed living
room positioned between the two bedrooms. Adjacent to both
bedrooms one finds impressive dressing areas and spacious
outdoor garden showers. Step out to a private wooden deck
with a large plunge pool surrounded by white sand beach and
lush garden. A shaded day bed and undholi (wooden swing) are
also featured in the garden setting.
Kuda Huraa also offers a full
range of adventures and indulgences to entice you away from
the perfect waves or enchant a non-surfing partner. An excursion
to Male', the beehive-busy capital of this island nation, will
surprise with its mosques, markets and traditional tea shops.
Other excursions go to tiny islands where Maldivian villagers
live a life seemingly untouched by the modern world, and to
uninhabited islands where you can live out your Robinson Crusoe
fantasy.
If you just want to relax, sip
a long drink by the Four Seasons' fabulous horizon pool, or
find a secluded patch of sand on the island's pure white beach.
For complete and utter indulgence, The Island Spa offers Reflex,
Thai, Indian and Aromatic massage, Ayuveda treatments, skin
scrubs, body wraps and facials. Located on its own tiny island,
the Spa is an idyllic sanctuary for rejuvenation and restoration
of mind, body and spirit.
